She then worked as a dental officer, playing a central role in establishing a new service aimed at increasing access to emergency and community dental care.

After returning to orthodontics in a specialty doctor role, Sarah’s experience supported her successful competitive entry into orthodontic specialty training.

Alongside her clinical commitments, she continues to develop her skills to support career progression. From an academic perspective, Sarah has obtained her MFDS (RCSEd), completed a PGDip in Medical Education with distinction, and is currently undertaking an MPhil in Dental Sciences researching recruitment practices in dentistry.

She is the BDA Young Dentist Representative for Swansea and West Wales, and her enthusiasm for teaching has led to her becoming a recognised Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd).

Through a range of projects, Sarah has presented her work internationally, published papers, and received a variety of prizes and funding awards supporting further learning opportunities.

She is currently working on extending the successful sustainability project developed at GCG to her other training sites. Outside of orthodontics, Sarah enjoys running, rock climbing, and surfing.
